Prior to founding Headwall Partners, Peter spent more than 12 years at Jefferies, the world’s 10th largest investment banking firm, where most recently he was Americas Head of Industrials Investment Banking.  Under his leadership, Peter grew the Americas Industrials team from 45 to 85 direct reports and dramatically increased revenue and profitability. Additionally, Peter held the title of Global Head of Steel & Metals Investment Banking and managed all of Jefferies’ global activities in the sector, including growing Jefferies US business to be the leading middle-market steel & metals group on Wall Street with leading market shares in M&A, IPOs, equity, and high yield.  From 2003 through 2007, Peter also was Global Head of Jefferies’ paper and packaging sector coverage.

Prior to Jefferies, Peter spent six years with Morgan Stanley where he was Global Head of Packaging Investment Banking, Americas Head of Steel & Metals Investment Banking, and held senior coverage responsibility for many large companies in the paper sector.  Additionally, Peter spent four years at Salomon Brothers, a predecessor firm to Citigroup, as Vice President of Paper and Packaging Investment Banking.

Tom Danjczek - Senior Advisor 

Thomas A. Danjczek joined Headwall Partners as a Senior Advisor in May 2017. For more than 40 years, Tom has been a highly respected steel industry leader.  He is regularly quoted in the press due to his extensive industrial experience in North America, China, Japan, Brazil and the EU.  Tom has a deep understanding of the steel sector’s competitive drivers, including raw materials, production costs, personnel, power, mill construction, customer requirements and environmental issues.

Tom earned a Master’s degree in industrial management from Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management, a Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering from Villanova University, and he participated in the University of Michigan’s Manufacturing Executive Program.   Mr. Danjczek twice received the prestigious AMM Advocate/Ambassador of the Year Award as well as Villanova University’s Engineering Merit Award, ASME Outstanding Achievement Award, Jefferson Technical College Partnership Award and was named by the US Department of Energy Industries of the Future as a Hall of Fame Recipient.
Tom has been married for 43 years and has three children and three grandchildren.

Peter Scott has been an investment banker for more than 25 years, all of it focused on the steel metals & mining and paper packaging & building products industries, where he has completed more than 150 transactions with aggregate value greater than $90 billion.

Our Team

Peter received an MBA with high honors (top 5%) with a focus in finance and accounting from The University Chicago Booth School of Business and completed the dual degree, Arts-Engineering program at Lehigh University, where he earned a BS in Industrial Engineering and a BA in English Literature.  At Lehigh, Peter was a member of the varsity ice hockey team and was President of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.

Peter is an active ice hockey player, skier, and ironman triathlete.  He holds FINRA Series 24, 7, and 63 certifications.


Austin comes to us from Lehigh University, where he is pursuing degrees in accounting and finance. He spent last summer with Deloitte’s Life Sciences and Health Care practice, working on tax-motivated restructurings for large biopharmaceutical and healthcare clients. At Lehigh, Austin is the head of the Rights portfolio, President of the Investment Management Group, and is a former officer of the Delta Chi Fraternity.

In his free time, Austin enjoys following professional soccer, hiking, and golf.

Tom led the Steel Manufacturers Association (SMA) as its President for 15 years until his retirement in 2014. During his tenure at the SMA, Tom represented the interests of companies in the US EAF mini-mill industry on matters related to trade, the environment, operations, raw materials, power, antitrust, labor and safety. Prior to joining the SMA, Danjczek was General Manager of Wheeling-Pittsburgh’s integrated steel mills and President of one of its subsidiaries.  Earlier in his career, he served as a Superintendent at Kaiser Steel and as an Engineer at Bethlehem Steel.  He participated for 16 years as a member on the US Department of Commerce Industry Sector Advisory Committee, having been elected Acting Chairman and Vice Chairman for many years.  Danjczek served for 5 years on the Boards of Directors of formerly Nasdaq-listed Globe Specialty Metals, formerly NYSE-listed GrafTech International, Mineral Services, Trinity Health System and he currently serves on the Board of Directors of both Walker Magnetics and Byer Steel.
