Peter J. Scott

Peter founded Headwall Partners in late 2016.  Prior to founding Headwall, Peter spent more than 12 years at Jefferies, the world’s 10th largest investment banking firm, where most recently he was Americas Head of Industrials Investment Banking.  Under his leadership, Peter grew the Americas Industrials team from 45 to 85 direct reports and dramatically increased revenue and profitability. Additionally, Peter held the title of Global Head of Steel & Metals Investment Banking and managed all of Jefferies’ global activities in the sector, including growing Jefferies US business to be the leading middle-market steel & metals group on Wall Street with leading market shares in M&A, IPOs, equity, and high yield.  From 2003 through 2007, Peter also was Global Head of Jefferies’ paper, packaging, and building materials sector coverage.

Prior to Jefferies, Peter spent six years with Morgan Stanley where he was Global Head of Packaging Investment Banking, Americas Head of Steel & Metals Investment Banking, and held senior coverage responsibility for many large companies in the paper sector.  Additionally, Peter spent four years at Salomon Brothers, a predecessor firm to Citigroup, as Vice President of Paper and Packaging Investment Banking.

Peter received an MBA with high honors (top 5%) with a focus in finance and accounting from The University Chicago Booth School of Business and completed the dual degree Arts-Engineering program at Lehigh University, where he earned a BS in Industrial Engineering and a BA in English Literature.  At Lehigh, Peter was a member of the varsity ice hockey team and was President of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.

Peter is an active ice hockey player, skier, and ironman triathlete. He holds FINRA Series 24, 7, and 63 certifications.
